Welcome back to 2012

2012-01-20 11:58:29

Wow, what a start to the year! Firstly Mother Nature can't decide on the weather and then the banks go and alter their credit policy with some making lending easier and others, lending harder!!

Never fear however, regardless of whether you are a First Home Buyer or simply wanting to refinance your current property, SFE Loans has a handle on what's going on financially at the moment.

Most rates discounts are still in place, based on loan size, and whilst the cash-back offers have ceased that doesnt mean that you shouldn't have a look at your current rate and have it compared. The removal of exit fees has made it very easy for you to leave some lenders and save thousands of dollars per year in interest, and get a better product at the same time.

The new year also means it's time to re-visit your expenses, which is currently what I'm doing. I'm making sure my Income Protection which I took out a few years ago is still competitive and that I'm not paying than necessary for the same amount of cover, and if I am, my Financial Planner Ian Dale is going to move it. I only organised my Trauma and Total and Permanent Disablement Insurance late last year so I know that is still current! If you need help with any personal insurances, he's your man- literally! Contact Ian on ian@dalefinancialplanning.com.au or track down he's details under my Small Business Hub.

Internet is another expense I've changed this week! I'm moving to telstra, who for a lesser price than my current ISP will give me a much faster speed and another 150 gb of data allowance per month!!!

Finally I've assessed my options with regards to Residex and as of August I will no longer be offering these reports, as I get the same type and quality of reports for my clients for free from ANZ. So, let's use up my quota of Residex reports! Hit me up if you would like a free report from me- all I need is your residential address and email contact and it takes like 5 mins to organise. If you have more than one property, that's cool too!

So as most of you would have gone back to work by now, let's hope that Mother Nature sorts herself out and delivers the best weather on the weekends!

Cheers

So the banks have gone a little crazy on their rates!!

2011-09-06 10:40:38

When a group of banks start competing with each other on their 3 and 5 years fixed rates, it means two things! 1) that competition guarantees better rates for you, and therefore less interest being charged and 2) that banks have hedged their bets on the cost of funding loans and can afford to ...
